Kitchen planning guidance in this prototype is based on published NKBA kitchen-planning guidance where a publicly accessible numeric recommendation is available, including the widely published 42" one-cook / 48" multiple-cook work-aisle recommendation and counter-height-specific seating knee-space guidance. NKBA released a fifth edition of its Kitchen & Bath Planning Guidelines in 2026; before public launch, every kitchen rule in this tool should be checked against the current fifth-edition text and your professional practice standards. Room furniture checks are primarily geometric fit checks from the dimensions the homeowner enters, with only conservative common design-planning ranges used for comfort prompts. Material-care guidance should be tied to recognized industry sources such as the Natural Stone Institute and the specific manufacturer/supplier. Nothing in this tool overrides local code, manufacturer instructions, or professional field verification.
